Power infrastructure

• The proposed Hatch–Wadley 500 kV transmission line is proposed to cross the property for approximately one mile.
• Existing 115 kV and 230 kV transmission lines approximately 1.26 miles and 2.8 miles to the east, respectively.
• 115 kV substation approximately three miles north of the property.
• 10 miles south of the Wadley; Georgia Power substations, control center, east–west 500 kV transmission line and the proposed Hatch–Wadley line endpoint.
• Approximately 60 miles north of Plant Hatch nuclear power station and surrounding substations.
• Several solar plants in the surrounding area.

Hatch–Wadley 500 kV transmission line

Long-term investments in Georgia’s statewide transmission system by Georgia Power (Southern Company).

75-mile transmission line connecting Nuclear Plant Hatch in Appling County to the Wadley Primary Substation in Jefferson County, crossing Toombs and Emanuel counties. Included in the Integrated Resource Plan, the project will strengthen grid reliability and help ensure reliable electric service to support long-term energy needs across the region.

The site

• 1,287 contiguous acres.
• Road frontage of approximately 0.57 mile along Old Wadley Road and 0.6 mile along Old Blundale Road.
• Wetlands less than 5%, generally level site and minimal gradients.
• Current use: timber.
• Summertown approximately 2.5 miles east, U.S. Highway 1 approximately 1.7 miles west and Interstate 16 approximately 30 miles south.

Emanuel County

Estimated population of 23,000 and 681 square miles.

Emanuel County states that it has no county-specific zoning regulations. Commercial and industrial development remains subject to building permits and applicable state and federal requirements.
